Mrs. Christine iPueherfc celebrated her 88th anniversay of her birth -on August 24. She was born in Baden, Germany, came to this country with her parents, Mr, and Mrs, Jacob Friederich in September, 1850, and joined the Amana .Society at Ebenezer, N. Y. In 1861 they came to Iowa and located at South Amana and in 186'S she was united in mar-.riage to Charles'Puchert and'thehome, was made in Homestead, andi here she has presided ever •since. She’ is the mother of seven children, two of whom are dead, and the husband died in 1902. She is now the oldest member of the Amana Society,
