Public School Opening.AH department* of the Alton Public School* will open Monday, Sopt. 7th, at 9 o’clock a. m.All pupil* below 6th grade, living in school district No. 3, will present themselves for admission at the new Garfield school building.District No. 3 is bounded as follows: Beginning at the river and,' running np Piasa street to Seventh street; thence east through Seventh street to Liberty; thence down Liberty street to Fifth street; thence east on Fifth street to Ridgs street and thence south on Kidce street to the river.
