A review3Lby Kay RawlinsonKuby’s Sausage House 6601 Snider PlazaTel. 363*2231 yHrs. Mon.-Sat. 8 a.m.-6 p.m.Located in Snider Plaza, this German sausage house is perhaps the best of its kind in Dallas. Try the Polish sausage and German potato salad. And don’t forget to browse through the grocery section on your way out. Open only for lunch, evidence of their popularity is seen in the long waiting line which moves promptly. The German waitresses tend to be short-tempered, however.Chill’s7567 Greenville Ave.Tel. 361-4371Hrs. Mon.-Th. 11 a.ra.-ll:30 p.m./Fri.-Sat. 11 a.m.-l:30 p.m./Sun. 12 p.m.-11:30 p.m.As the name implies, chili is the specialty. The restaurant won several chili cook-offs in Terlingua. Menu is limited, but offers excellent hamburgers and perhaps the best french fries in Dallas. Also try the margaritas but stay away from the sangria. The long lines can be frustrating.El Fentx6811 Northwest Hwy. (at HUIcrest)Tel. 363-5279Hrs. Tues.-Sun. 11 a.m.-10 p.m.This El Fenix not only has good Mexican food, but excellent service as well. It makes probably the best margarita in town.Raphael’s3701 McKinney Ave.Tel. 521-9640Hrs. Mon.-Fri. 11:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m./Sal. 12 p.m.-10:30 p.m.What was once Arthur’s is now one of the favorite Mexican restaurants with the Dallas culinary crowd. The inside is tiny and the w-aiting period for seating runs close to an hour at peak times. To make it worse, the waiting room is also the dining room as wellas the bar. While eating, you may be faced with many a hungry face staring your enchiladas down. Prices are a little higher than El Fcnix but the food is not much better. Service leaves a lot to be desired.T.G.I. Fridays5500 Greenville Ave. !•Tel. 363-5353 /_ /Hrs. Mon.-Sun. 11:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m.One of the first singles spots in Dallas, Fridays is still quite popular with some. The food had dwindled in quality and variety, but it has improved and now has quite a list to choose • from..Be sure to try the fried mushrooms and hachos. Service varies form bad to tolerable. 1Our House6923 Greenville Ave. .Tel. 369-9402 e, ? . fHrs. Mon.-Sat. 11 a.m.-3 p.m. 5:30 p.m.-10 p.m./Sun. 11 a.m.-8 p.m.Easily missed. Our House is-across the street from Lillie Langtry’s. Small, but quaint atmosphere. Menu content leans heavily toward vegetable dishes which are excellent. Mon.-Sun. 11 a.m.-2 a.m.A typical Greenville Ave. joint, the Filling Station is small, noisy and above all, crowded. ' .Houllhans . '4 Northpark East Tel. 361-9426Hrs. Mon.-Sun. II a.ra.-2 a.m.A lot like Fridays, only larger and a much better atmosphere. Again, during peak hours, the wait is long but the bar is fairly spacious. Food leans toward French-style cooking and is worth a try. The several varieties of coffee are also worth ordering.
