KSOCIETYf Court Santa Maria No, 179. entertained at a public card party , on Tuesday evening, with a large attendance. Pinochle, bridge, canasta and 00 ^as played with prizes awarded o the winners. An attractive luncheon was served at the close of the evening pastime with the Hallowe’en theme carried out at the small tables# Committee hostesses were Mrs. William Neubrand. Mrs. Frank Holz-hian. Schuellcr, MissEsther Fisch and Miss Ethel Neubrand.* * * ,•I The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Varenhorst was christened Michael Phillip by the Rev. L. J. La Vcllc at the morning service at St.Wm.Mrs.James Catholic church on October 12th, with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ah-lers Jr. the Godparents. The child wore the Christening dress which had been worn bv members of Mrs. .Var-cnhcrsts family, which was sent by her, mother. Mrs. W. Butler from Keighley, England, for the occasion.* * *Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bourne were hosts at a six-thirty dinner on Sunday evening honoring their two granddaughters Charlotte Brauch who was four years old on Tuesday and Mary Louise Poeckes who was three vears old on Sunday. Included in the courtesy were Mr. and Mrs. 'ClarenceBrauch, Mr. and Mrs. Henfv Poeckes and son MicheaJ, Mr. and Mrs. Chas.
