48 present at reunion for Shook and friendsThe 58th Shook and friends reunion was held Sunday, Oct. 1, at the Thurmont Community Park. Forty-eight people attended.Door prizes were won by David Smith, Charles “Dusty” Boiler, Bonnie Heininger, Hilda Shook, Karen Johnson, Carol Boiler, Kyle Boiler and Terry Boiler.Guessing games were won by Brian Boiler, Lou Borsos, Tammy Kelly, David Smith, Shirley Boiler, Jennifer Smith and Kyle Boiler.The grocery basket was won by Glenn Morgan Cake walks were won by Brittney Kline, Jennifer Smith and Andy Bane Prizes were awarded to the following: Youngest child, Andrew Boiler, 18 months; oldest Shook man, Warren Shafer, 69; oldest man, Harry Detrow, 76; oldest Shook woman, Patsy Somogyi, 62; oldestwoman, Violet Toms, 74; largest family (all with five members attending), Rick and BonnieHeininger, Chester and Linda Fogle,Dusty and Shirley Boiler and Dennis and Liz Murray; longest married, Harry and Mildred Detrow, 57 years; most recently married, Dennis and Liz Murray, 5 years; most recent birthday, Sookie Borsos, Oct. 1; and longest distance traveled, Lou and Sookie Borsos, Delaware.An auction of wrapped gifts was held and bingo was played.
