La PorteC larVThe Highland Chib met on October 4 at Abels Cafe with Mrs. Jay Anton as hostess. The group played 500 with prizes going to Maude flitter and Mrs. Elmer Beier. Mrs. 3eier will be the next hostess on No* ember 1 when they will meet at Abels Cafe. A fail party is planned to be held on October 23 at Abels with a 1:30 dinner.The Thrift Club met on Friday, October 6 at Abels with sixteen members present. Four birthday gifts were given. Those receiving them were Charlotte Anton, Ivadelle Bader, Dora Hubbard, and Lena Dage. Bunko was played with Ivadelle Bader high and Cleo Brecher low. Violet Goodwin received the door prise. Marjorie Foulk and Violet Goodwin will be hostesses for the next meeting.SP/4 Donald Casbon left on Tuesday for Vietnam. He has served two years in the armed forces. He will act as Crew-Chief on a C model helicopter on overseas patrol duty.Denise Vonnetie Casbon was bom oa September IS to SP/4 and Mrs. Donald Casbon. She weighed 6 pounds and 12 ounces. The grandparents are. Mr. and Mrs. Vilah Casbon and Mr. and Mrs. Hans Harder.
