Visiting him from Bonham were three sisters, Mrs. Florence Shaver, Mrs. Zora Arledge and Mrs. Paul Coleman. Mrs. Laura Fitsworth, another sister was unable to attend. Emmett Thompson ot Bonham, an old family friend, also visited Judge Delay for the day.Robert Delay and family from Houston were here tor the occasion as well as Ross Delay of Gladewater.Despite the fact that Delay has to use a wheel chair to move around, he is cheerful and loves to visit with people.Next month will mark the twentieth year that Judge Delay has lived in Gladewater. He came here in the boom days. He says there were very few business houses then and no paved streets.Judge Delay was elected Justice of the Peace of Precinct 3, Gregg County and took office January 1, 1945, ran for the third term without opposition. He held this office until he was forced to retire because of illness.
