The ' girls had a splendid time.The influenza seems to be quieting down. Some days there are very few i cases, and next day a good many, so it goes. There is no possible way to predict when it will stop, as the old-fashioned gripppe was a cold weather disease.! She has a lot of friends here and * th**y were all glad to see Mrs. Major Latta, when she came l ack last Friday. She is a special favorite with the little folks, and they hope she j will stay in Washington all winter. She was in Chicago for the two peace ' celebrations, and she says she would I not have missed them for a good deal, j She said she met Chas. Howe and his wife and children on the street one I day. and says they look prosperous and fine.
