The publishers announce in the prospectus for the coming year a serial story for adults, by the popular magazine writer, James Franklin Fitts, and a juvenile serial by the young people’s favorite, Horatio Alger, Jr. The price of this periodical is a marvel to everybody—a hundred page first class illustrated magazine for fifteen cents, or $1 50 per year, is indeedwonderfully cheap. Elliot, Tliomes Talbot, publishers, Boston, Massachusetts.The Innocents Abroad; or the NewPilgrim’s Progress. Being some account of the steamship Quaker City’s pleasure excursion to Europe and the Holy Land, with descriptions of countries, nations, incidents and adventures as they appeared to the author; by Mark Twain, the popular correspondent and humorist. The book is a large and exceedingly handsome volume of over G50 octavo pages. Those who have read Mark Twain’s writings will of course buv the book. Mrs. E. A. Thomas is now canvassing this city for subscriptions andwe commend both her and the book to the gocd will of our people.
