Birthday Surprise.On last Saturday, Oct. 80th., the children und grandchildren of Mr. .lettse Patton gathered at hit* home near Maxville to help liim ceiebiate Itih 7 Iih. birthday antii* vaiaury. At the noon hour u» the table wee fairy groaning under ouch a loud of everything that wan good to out, Mr. Patton came in from milling meal and tho Biirprine was certainly complete. After he had given theui all a welcomegreeting, everybody there did their beet to relieve tho table of it« burden, The afternoon wna spent in eingiing und social conversationwhich w'an greatly enjoy*U i*y all.Mr. Patton whm the recipient of many pretty post cards and prea ents.
