President Franklin Roosevelt had recently issued Executive Order 9066 authorizing the relocation of Japanese Americans.nakoshi - even through college where they were studying business.They said they still remember when copies of the order were tacked up on telephone poles.“Our family evacuated,” said Funakoshi. “They gave us a short time if you had a place to go. We had friends of the family in Colorado. ... We lived on a farm with coal stoves, no electricity, outdoor toilets.
