GEORGE BRUBAKER, FRANK KIEFER AREROME ONCE AGAINrTwo Piqua homes are much happier today than they have been for sometime, and the reason of course is that two more Piquads are home, Pfc. George W. Brubaker and Sgt. Prank Kiefer,. the two meeting at Camp At-terbury, Indiana and coming together to Dayton where Sgt, Kiefer’s family met them.Pfc. Brubaker’s wife and daughter Sharon, who reside at 447 Riverside Drive and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. D. Brubaker, 43G First street, weren’t expecting him just yet, so it was a most pleasant surprise, when he came walking in.Recently liberated from a German prison camp, he looks fine, and his mother thinks he weighs more now than when he left. He was down to 120 pounds when the Americans freed him, but the treatment since then has been good, so he now weighs around 172 pounds.Word was received here on January 29 of this year that he was “missing in action” since January 8 on the western front. Finally in April, a letter direct from Pfc. Brubaker revealed that he was being held by the Germans, but was well and receiving his Red Cross packages.A graduate at Piqua Central, George was employed at the Wood Shovel and Tool company prior to entering service on March 27, 1944 He trained with the infantry and left for overseas on December 16 of last year.S Years, 3 MonthsThree years and three months ago today, Sgt.
