The report needs confirmation, though, and Mr. Slaughter's many friends in this city hope that it will prove untrue.Since the above was in type we have learned fro... parties who have just come from that section that -Mr. Slaughter's wound is very painful, though l»y no means dangerous, and that he will, in all probability, be up and about Ins business again in a short time. The would-be murderess had not beeu captured when our informant left.
