After More Copper.C. W. Mllbratb of tbe American Wrecking and Salvage company which has been at work removing copper from the wreck of the steamer. Pewabic la Thunder bay, Lake Huron, says the expedition will, start from Milwaukee to resume work about May 15. Tbestoamor H. A. Root, Captain Brittain, is now at Saugatuck, but will reach Milwaukee soon to take aboard the Smith dlvlDg bell. 8peaklng of the work of this company so/'taron this old wreck, Mr. MUbrath said:“We expect to take up quite a little copper this season. = The entire deck has been blown off by dynamite and tbe copper Is all laid bare. There are at least 200 tons in the Pewabic yet. Since we commenced work upon the wreck two years ago the price of copper has doubled. We have demonstrated tbe fact that wo can pick up anything from a silver teaspoon to a six-ton piece of copper. There la one piece of copper thoro wolghlngnine tons and we expect to lift It this summer. The Root will arrive here soon to be provisioned. We are figuring with the insurance company on a contract to take steel billets out of the wreck of the.K. P. Hale, which went down In 1897. The Hale le about twenty-five miles from the Pewabic.”aI:
