oaoA., x ucaua^.The Annual Athletic Association meeting was called at the Fairview Hotel Monday night with the President, Ed McAdams, in the chair. At this meeting there was a rather unanimous opinion expressed that the amalgamation of a number of the community organizations under the head of the Board of Trade for a town this size would call forth greater enthusiasm for community enterprizes. It was the opinion of the meeting that the executive of the association should investigate more closely the financial standing of the association before definite plans be laid for an Annual Sports Day. With this in view the following officers were elected pro tern: President, Rev. J. E. Kirk; Secretary, C. J. Ware, and baseball manager, R. Van hook. Tuesday evening. May 7th, at 8 o’clock in the Fairview Hotel there will bei another meeting of the Athletic | Association when definite reports of the associations standing will be given and the question of the Annual Sports Day and the future activities of Xhe association discussed. It is hoped that there will be a good representation of the citizens present.Last Wednesday evening at the United Church there were presented two plays under the auspices of the Ladies’ Association, namely: “Joint Owners in Spain” and “The Village Photographer.” The actresses and actors acquitted themselves very commendably to the enjoyment of the large number j present. And incidently the treasury of the association was increased by a good sum.During the last few weeks a new pulpit, hymn board and other equipment has been added to St. Paul’s United Church along withsome alterations The new furnish- 1mgs will be dedicated at the regular Service of Worship on Sunday.
