And the two really became attached as a child and pet often do.The Howard Fabers of Huron have a very special cat in their family. She may just be • very ordinary cat to youMarcia called and looked for her special pet for two days, but Lizzie was nowhere around. On Palm Sunday, thepl«, if iiiiif• V*lt;v:*:vlt;■ *iwith a snowy white vest and four white feet.But when Lizzie — so-called because her green eyes look like Liz Taylor’s — didn’t show up on the Friday before Palm Sunday, the family was very sad. Especially Marcia, the Faber’s four-yearold daughter.Fabers noticed little Marcia with her young hands folded in church, praying a little extra harder for Lizzie’s return. The rest of the family felt sad for Marcia because they thought Lizzie was probably run over by a car, or even hit on the railroad tracks nearby.%Class Says JerryLikely To SucceedJerry Thomas has been named by his fellow seniors •‘most likely to succeed.”It’s in the Perkins yearbook.Jerry thinks it’s because of his good grades and admits he is an honor roll student.itone horn in the Perkins Marching Band in the Concert Band.His hobbies are chess and stamp collecting.The latter, he says, was developed through an aunt’sBut when the family returned home from church — whether it was fate, fortune or Marcia’s prayers — Lizzie was in the front yard.THE ENTIRE Faber family squealed with delight — especially Marcia — and ran to welcome their pet back home. But the delight wasdeadened when they reached her — Lizzie was hurt and seemed to be in great pain. Her left rear hip and leg had been crushed.Linda, Marcia's older sis-JERRY THOMASter, picked up Lizzie and gently carried her into the house. She was thin from whatever happened to her when she was lost.The family gave her some milk and made a bed in the kitchen for her. Marcia seemed to realize she would have to be very careful with her pet, but was glad to seeLizzie back home.The Fabers told Marcia her kitty might have to be put to sleep because she was hurt so badly. But they decided to wait a few days to see if Lizzie would get better. They made a bed and a sand-pile in the basement for her,MARCIA MADE frequent trips to the basement to see Lizzie, but realized she couldn’t pick her up and play as they always did. But as the days passed, Lizzie gained strength.On Good Friday, the family heard a scratch on the basement door. Marcia opened it and — lo and behold —- there was Lizzie at the top of the stairs waiting to play.
