Equal Rights Association-This Association held their regular meeting, yesterday afternoon, at the rooms of Prof. A. Curtis, No. 231 W. Fourth street. The attendance was smaller than usual, and but littlo enthusiasm prevailed until near the close of the proceedings.In the absence of the President the Vice President, Mr. Quimby, occupied the chair.The minutes of the previous meeting wereread by Mrs. Blangy, the Secretary, and unanimously approved.A motion to hold the meetings of the society every two weeks instead of weekly, was presented and the samo Indefinitely postponed.Tho 8ociety then proceeded into an election of officers who are to serve for the next three months.The following persons were elected;President, J. B. Qiilmby; Vice President, Mrs. Charles Graham; Kaoordiug Secretary. Mrs. L. H. Blangy; Corresponding Secretary, Mis. Ky-der, Treasurer, Mrs. M. Moulton.The retiring President, Mrs. Leavitt, then made a few encouraging remarks, urging the Society to continue its work, zealously aud fervently. She felt very much pleased at hearing the encouraging Dews from Columbus, to the effect that the bill relating to woman suffrage had beeu defeated by the Ohio State Senate by tho small vote of 49 to 36. She had expected to hear of a heavier defeat, but as the telegram stated it, she thought that this piece of news should give a fresh impetus to all their work, and urge them to continue in the causo with redoubled exertions. She alsoexteuded aft invitation to all present to attend the next meeting, which is to take place at the same hall, on next Wednesday evening, and hoped that they wouldall be in attendance, with a large number of friends.She was in favor of having persons, gentlemen in particular, invited to come and discuss the topio of woman’s rights, and, whether they were in favor of tho same or against it, they would be welcomed, and she would insure for them a close attention to their remarks. One gentleman of this city is willing to discuss the matter if any of the ladies would enter into an argument with him.Several ladies stated that they would discussquestions of their cause with any gentleman who would attend the meeting, and they feltoertaiu that they could compel him to give up
