Horton, 11. Wilson and J. Withers.The tragedy occured at Richland. April 14, ISihj. Jann-s Kelly, who did the shooting, lives near Kichland, and Sam Munday, who was killed. lived formerly near Folsomville, this county. The event took place in Jones’ saioon. Munday was intoxicated, and according to thlt;; evidence, wanted trouble. He had just couie out of tne Regular arniv. and boasted of his prowess. He flourished a kniTe, and some of the witnesses claim he tried to use it in the tussle with Ivelly, but this is a disputed point. Munday opened the figlu by striking Terry Bingle. Then James Kelly rushed in, grappled with Munday. and shoi him through the heart. The prosecution affirms that Kelly had no business in this affair, and that Munday provoked him in nowise whatever. ]‘ui this point is disputed also, and remains to be cleared up by the evidence. Munday was27 years of age when killed. Roth Kelly and Munday were dangerous characters. Kelly had previously served a term in the penitentiary for stealing. Kelly is a young man, about 26 years of age, and for mouths past lias been confined in the Boonvilie jail.The result of the case is awaited with interest.M r.'
