Dickson. “The colored ministers had denounced it and -we didn’t want to do anything to displease any part of the public. Then along came,this man and takes advantage of the advertising we had done for the cake wlk. The impression has been given that we are. behind it or that Brady, who got up the big cake walk in several large cities, is managing it. Such is not the case, how-. ever.”
