CANNIBALISM.Twelve Persons Said to Hare Been Killed and Eaten by a Woman.Winnipeg, March 16.—A case of oan-nxbalism reported from the Peace river oonntrj last summer turns out not to be caused by hanger, but the work of *woman who became “wehtigo” severyears ago, and has since killed ax eaten twelve persons, members of her own family and others. She was alive at last accounts from Edmonton. The Indians and half breeds express surprisethat the government does not arrest and panish her for this crime.
