Baby boom on South BassPUT-IN-BAY — New babies — especially multiple births — are swelling the South Bass Island population of late.The newest islanders, fraternal twin daughters of Jack and Randi (Urge) Wertenbach, follow triplets born Nov. 12 to Mike and Anita McCann.Although not blood relatives, all five babies are loosely related through marriage. The triplets’ mother is the sister-in-law of Randi’s brother, whose wife had a baby girl in October.Twins Erika Alyse and Micahala Lee were born March 12 in Fairview General Hospital, Cleveland.Their grandparents are Put-In-Bay Mayor Steve Urge and his wife Joy and Betty and the late John Wertenbach, Toledo.The Wertenbachs also have a son, Kyle, age 5.
