In this, his first attempt for a state office, he said he thinks he can breedcooperationbetween the ex-ecutive and legislative branches — something he says isLunafluence is going to be received based only on how well you can work with the legislative and executive branch,” he said, adding that the lieutenant governor should serve as a “mediator, coach and sometimes even as a referee” between the two branches. He said the past legislative session showed how the two branches of state government can work together, although the public’s perception of activities at the capital are not positive.“The legislature needs a good, trustworthy working relationship with the governor’s office,” he said. “If you don’t have that, you don’t have anything.
