Smith Sr. of Gulfport announce the engagement of their daughter, Yvonne Smith Sutherland, to Joseph Edward Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. JosephusJenkins of Beaufort, S.C.Grandparents of the prospective groom areMrs. Dora Pigler of Beaufort and the late Mr. WilliePigler.The bride-elect is a 1967 graduate of 33rd Avenue High School, where she was the salutatorian of her class and was listed in Who’s Who Among American High School Students, 1966-67.Ms. Sutherland receiveda B.S. degree from the College of Pharmacy, Xavier University in New Orleans, La.She is currently employed as a registered staff pharmacist with Memorial Hospital at Gulfport.The prospective groom is a 1967 graduate of Robert Small High School in Reaufort. He graduated from Cincinnati College ofMortuary Science in 1970, as a certified licensed mortician.Mr. Allen is now a certified advanced and emergency medical technician ad instructor. He is employed by Beaufort County as director of emergency medical service.He is also counselor to the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.The wedding will take place Saturday, March 26 at 2 p.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church in Gulfport.WA TCH FOR OPENING SOON!!
