All PRESENTOFFICIALSMayor Alberto Martin and seven members of the city's board of aldermen were nominated • for re-election at a meeting of the Independent Club held, in city council chambers Tues-afternoon.The only change made' was the naming of A. A. Leyendecker, young architect, to succeed C. H. Walker as alderman from Ward. No. 3, Walker is confined to a hospital with illness.The nominations by the Independent Club are as follows: Mayor, Albert Martin; Aldermen — H. S. Cluck and Louis Franklin, from Ward No. 1;; T. A. Leyendecker and Joe Henry, from Ward No. 2; Kichard E. Misener and A. A. Leyendecker, from Ward No, 3; W. S. Cantrell and Carlos Palacios, from Ward No. 4.City secretary, A. B. Garcia; city marshal, Candelario Mendiola; city tax assessor, F. A, Lattig; city tax collector, G, P. Farias; city treasurer, R. J. Benavides; city attorney, Ed. H. Lange.The' club at the meeting also nominated C. L. Milton and Leon Daiches as members of the board of school trustees to succeed themselves at the school board election to be held April 2, when two of the seven members of the board will be elected, their terms expiring at this time.Nomination or endorsement of the Independent Club is equivalent to election, as past records. show it wields the political power in Laredo and Webb county.The club also named a committee composed of Ed. H. Lange, A, R. Garcia and Hugh S. Cluck to draft a suitable set of resolutions' on the death of County Attorney Ed.
