There is one baby in Medicine Hat who will be reasonably “young” for a long, long time. Maternity hospital officials report that a seven-pound 13%40z baby girl was born there Sunday, Feb. 29—a Leap Year baby. The infant, Donna Mae Turner, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Turner, 1147 Dominion St., and was born at 9:17 last night. A child born on leap year’s day celebrates a birthday only once in every four years according to our Julian calendar. Mr. Turner is an employe of The Medicine Hat News and his wife is the former Alice Beck. Births were on the upswing in Med icine Hat during February. Total number of striplings registered in the vital statistics branch at the court house last month was 54 as compared to 44 in the corresponding month of last year. February's figure repre sents an increase of slightly more than 23 per cent.
