The body of Rick Riley, 20, 945 Ross Ave., Hamilton, who drowned Saturday in the Little Miami River, was recovered Sunday after a five-hour search by rescue units near the Fort Ancient Bridge in Warren County.Riley had been canoeing with a group from the Twinbrook Hills Baptist Church when he jumped into the water south of State Rte. 350 near Fort Ancient to cool off, witnesses said. He reportedly went down about 15 feet from shore without calling for help.Rescuers from Warren County, Waynesville,Morrow and Greene County joined in the search Sunday. The body was recoveredabout 3 p.m.One civilian diver was injured slightly when he hit his knee on a rock Saturday. The drowning was the fourth in the Little Miami this summer.Mr. Riley was bom in Hamilton, a son of Walter and Elsie Barger Riley. He attended Seven Mile School and graduated from Edgewood High School in 1973.He had been employed as a fitter by Hamilton Tool Co. the last two years.On May 26, 1973, he married Julia Ann Thomas.Mr. Riley was a member of the Twinbrook Hills Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Julia Riley; his parents.
