Area Man Dies, Neighbor Burned In Freak MishapA Unionport man was dec* trocuted and his neighbor burned seriously Monday when a citizens band antenna came in contact with high voltage wires in the victim's back yard*Dead on arrival at St. John Medical Center was Earl B. McClelland, 25, of Front Street, Unionport.Transferred to Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh with extensive bums was Carol Blake, 32, also of Front Street. She wds treated first at St. John Medical Center.Removing Radio AntennaThe accident occurred about2:50 p.m. as McClelland wasremoving bis citizens hand radio antenna from an outbuilding in his back yard in anticipation of moving from the home lie had sold Sheriffholdingmast and antenna with an overall length of about 43 feet' when he lost control of it and the antenna struck high voltage Ohio Power Co. lines, causing him to be electrocuted while holding the mast Carol Blake, his nextdoor neighbor, was mowing her lawn when she witnessed the accident. She suffered second-degree bums of the body andelectrical shock while trying to. pull McClelland free of the mast. Two other neighbors, Mary Collins and Kay Schleicher, carried Mrs.-Blake across Second Street to get her away. from the antenna and wires., The victims were taken to St. John Medical; Center by the Bloomingdale and WlntersvflleVolunteer Fire Department. Unionport statealso assisted and Ohio Power Co. officials were on the scenesoon after the accident.%Employed As SalesmanMr. McClelland was employed as a salesman for West End Motors in Wintersville. He was bom Sept 30,1960, in Ohio. Surviving are his widow,Kathleen Gillespie McClelland; two brothers, Frank Wayne McClelland of Mingo Junction, and Dennis McClelland of RD1, Richmond, '* and his parents, Frank and Maxine Cline McClelland of RD 1, Richmond.Friends may call at the Sweeney Funeral Home in Amsterdam from 2 to 4 and 7 to9 p,m. today.
