—C. D. Calkins, Esq, of East Smeth-port, celebrated his sOih birthday yesterday. Mr. Calkins is a remarkably active man for one of his years, and from all kppearanees he bids fair to celebrate several more anniversaries. Mr. Calkins walks from his home to this borough, a distance of over one mile, and hack nearly every day, and does not consider it much of an effort either. The Democrat trusts that his life may be spared many years more.
