A PLEASANT EVENT,I Mr. and Mra. Job a R. Jackson enter-j tained about forty of their friends, at j their coxy residence, at a reception Iaat night in honor of their daughter Jennie, after the commencement exercises,from11 p- ro. to 2 a. m. Refreshments were » served at 12 m, after which the guests gave themselves up to social conversation. The occasion was made more pleasant by the presence cf Miss Mary Williams and Mr. Ned Williams, of our city, who at intervals discoursed sweet music to the chattering guests. Among the number present were Messrs. Bluster Cox and Will Anderson and Mieses Zenobia Cox and Lou Clark, of Cincinnati *, Mies Mamie Jones, of Dayton ; Miss Maggie Terry, of Oxford, Dr, Jackson and Messrs, E. W. Clark, 11, A. Maxwell and II. Y, Arnett, of Wilberforce, and Misses Mary and Lucy Jackson, of Washington C. II. The remainder of the guests were our own home folks. Too much, praise cannot be given to Mr. and Mrs. Jaekson for the delightful manner in which wewere entertained, and in' Miss Jennie we found quite a charming hostess. She was the recipient of many handsome presents. The occasion is orxe that will long be remembered by all present.A GUEST.
