McDowell, who has passed beyond the •Hotted time c! man, and there, surrounded by nature in her health-giving vigor, he Is spending his declining years. Each year the home Ls the scene of a grand gala day and that day la the one that marks the birth of Mr. McDowell, who on Sunday, June 10, celebrated his 75th birthday. This day always means the gathering into the home his largo family and his descendants tor several generations. The event Is as eagerly looked forward to by the children and the children's children as IttsfbyMr. McDowell himself. The refreshing breezes as they greeted the home-coming of the children and the gathering in of the friends on last Sunday was such as would add to the delight of all. Following are the names af those who were present: Mr. McDowell’s sister, 3irs. Mary Artis, his wife Rebecca and his sons, John M. McDowell. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas- McDowell of Uniontown, Mrs. Harry Ellenberger and daughter Virginia, Mr. and Mr*. William DeBoit, John W. and William Harold McDowell, John, Ethel, Margaret, Mrs. Sara Holland and Children, Edward, Pearl and Mollle, Bradford Wilson McDowell, Adam X. McDowell. Mrs. A Sam K_ McDowell and children. Albert, Rebecca. Orris, Jessie and Adam.J. of Unlontown, William A. McDowell Bethelboro. Among the friends that and children, Ina, Thomas aud Oran of Bethelboro. Among the friends present were Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Ellenberger. Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Martin, 31r. and Mrs. Charles Bowlby anti daughters Sadie and Anna, Mr. and Mrs. Andy Bissell and daughter Josephine. Mrs. Link Morrissey and daughter Gladys. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Martin. Miss Myrtle I’egg. Mrs. Link Smftley and son John, George Wagner and Lee Harbarger. Mr. McDowell was the recipient of many valuable and tifteful presents and also a nice sum of money which was presented to him to remind him that as he journeys on down the wintry years his friend* are ever thoughtful of him and desirous of making the path as smooth and pleasant as possible for him to travel upon. When the noon hour came the enjoyment of the day was enhanced by the ladies spreading a grand dinner out in the grove, partaking of it after the old time picnic style.
