So she started looking to other libraries for ideas and painting styles.Enter Phyllis Finnie.“As soon as I saw Phyllis’ work, I knew' I liked her style,” Bramlet said. Bramlet said she and Finnie also shared a fondness for fairy tales.Bramlet originally wanted the mural to have a fairy tale theme, and Finnie was happy to paint scenes from those classic children’s stories.Bramlet approached Finnie, who has been painting and drawing since 1959, about painting a fairy tale-themed mural.I got kind of excited about it when I heard about it, and the cause — that inspired me, too,” Finnie said.Brush and acrylic paints in hand. Finnie worked on the mural for about three weeks. The finished mural stretches across the east wall and a portion of a north wall in the children’s room.
