Cradle Shower Fetes [ Mrs. Santos Rios fMrs. Santos (Linda Ann) Rios of Houston was honored at a baby shower at the American Legion Hall in Hearne from one until three o’clock in the afternoon Sunday, July 24.Hostesses for the courtesy were Mrs. Jesse (Janie) Lopez, Mrs. Albert (Inez) Rios, Mrs. Adolph (Olivia) Rios and Mrs. Tony (Frances) Mata.Santos Rios greeted guests along with the hostesses in behalf of his wife. Mrs. Rios was confined to Robertson County Community Hospital following the early arrival of their first child, a son named Christopher Charles, born July 22.A corsage made from yellow lace trimmed baby socks surrounded with yellow ribbons and lace, a special gift from the hostesses, was graciously accepted by Rios for his wife.Focal point was the refreshment table that was covered with a paper party tablecloth bearing designs of baby blocks and babies on a yellow background. The table held a white frosted sheet cake embellished in pink and blue icing. A spun sugar replica of a tiny stork holding a tiny baby doll sat in the center of the cake, encircled with cherubs entwined in greenery and blue sky. A larger stork holding a baby doll in a diaper stood nearby.Photographs of the mother and baby were admired as the hostesses took pictures of the new father, party guests and the infant’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Rios and Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Lopez of Branch ville.Mr. Rios opened the many dainty gifts and displayed them for all to admire.Refreshments of cake, pink and blue finger sandwichesfilled with tunafish salad and pimiento cheese, cookies, peanuts and party mints were served along with a beverage choice of red fruit punch with orange slices or lime sherbet punch to those attending who, besides the father and hostesses, included:Mrs. Patsy Rios and Mrs. Mgrgie Cordova of Houston, Mrs. Janie Munoz of Dallas, Mrs. Rosa Rocha of Bryan;Mrs. Adrian P. Cordova, Mrs. Joe Cordova and Christi, Mrs, Frances Sifuentes, Mrs, Mary Jane Chavez and Heather, Mrs. Dolores Vaca, Mrs. Benita Vargas, Mrs. Rafaela Rojas, Mrs, Isabel Rocha and Mrs. Romalda Sifuentes;Misses Anita Rios, Gloria Lopez, Patricia Lopez, Marie Cordova, Martha Rocha, Do-minga Rocha, Louisa Rocha, Melanie Mata;Albert Rios, Jesse Lopez, Ricky Lopez, Ignacio Lopez and Tony Mata.
