Mr. Fred’k. Foerster Secures Another Valuable Patent.The Author of the New Wagon Makers' Tool That Makes Play Out of llard Work.Mr. Frederick W. Foerster, one of Burlington's most ingenious inventors, has just rereived the patent papers for one of the most valuable and necessary tools that are required in a wagon or carriage maker’s factory and lepair shop. This well-known Burlington citizen is the inventor of a large number ot important tools, among which are the Smith tenoning machine, but none of them have appeared to till the long-felt-want of his newest patent.it is a simple, but novel little machine for drilling holes through the tires and felloes of a buggy, carriage or wagon of any size, it lias always been a serious proposition with the buggy or wagon makers to rivet the tires to the felloes without a lot of arduous, tiresome work. Mr. Forster’s new machine makes it simply play. It is attached to the wheel, after the tire is placed and a few minutes of easy work rivets it as ftrmly as though it had passed the ordeal of the most intricate machine used for this work in the largest industries.It is a recreation to see this veteran mechanic do this hard work. There is no waste of strength, no toil and no labor. The little tool does it with such ease and such celerity that it partakes more of play than work.Upon the issuing of the patent a number of persons interested in modern inventions applied for the purchase of the patent, and the American rights were sold. Since it was given public ity, applications have come to him for the sale* of the rights in Canada, Great Britain and other foreign countries.It is certainly a marvel of ingenuity and promises to revolutionize the work of the blacksmith and wagon maker.
