Death of Mr, John W. Andes. jHis numerous old friends and aequaint-! ances of this locality will learn with regret that Mr. John W. Andes, eon of Mr. Abraham Andes, who formerly resided at Crany Island, near New Market, Va., departed this life at his home near Pleasant Valley, Rockingham county, Va., on July 9, 1898 ; aged 52 years, 10 months, and 7 days. His death was caused by hemorrhage of the lungs. He was buried on Sunday, the funeral sermon being preached and burial service £ conducted by Elder Early and Rev. Seehrist. The deceased married Miss Bettie, oldest daughter of Mr. Samuel Roller, residing about four miles south of this place. His wife and three daughters survive him-—two of them being unmarried and the oldest the wife of Prof. Yount, of Bridgewater, Va. Mr. Andes was a member of the United Brethren church, an obliging neighbor, and aworthy citizen,—New Market Valley,
