Indications are that the fight will be a hot one on Saturday.The all-absorbing topic of conversation with groups of persons assembled on the streets is poltics, mostly local, although there is much interest manifest also in the governor's race between Ross Sterling and Mrs, Ferguson, and in the attorney general's race between Allred and Calhoun. Both Sterling and Calhoun carry the' endorsement of the Independent Club, while Sterling Is expected to get the support of the Progreslve Citizens Party,.Lamar Gill as congressman-at-large from Place No. 2 is promised strong support in Laredo, although there are said to be quite a number of supporters of Joseph W. Bailey, son of the late Senator Joe Bailey, for the same place. Others of the candidates for congressman-at-large, it Is estimated, will get scattered votes.As a result of the heated races for district attorney and four county offices Saturday it is expected that the political rallies to be held by both the Independent Club and the Progressive Citizens Party tomorrow night will bring out the- largest crowds ever witnessed in Laredo.
