Lee O’Daniel was endorsed for re-election and Albert Martin elected president for the next two years by 300 leaders of the Independent Club, better known as the “Old Party at a enthusiastic meeting Monday night at the court house.Showing complete harmony and a determination to present usual united front in the coming primaries and the general election, the meeting proceeded with enthusiasm. Albert Martin, former mayor, was unanimously the choice of the entire group to head the Independent Club. He presided at last night’s meeting and Edward Leyendecker, new county treasurer, was secretary. Leyendecker was also elected secretary of .the club for the next two years.Other officers elected were Mayor Hugh Cluck,, first vice president; City Secretary, A. R. Garcia, second vice president and Joe Martin Jr., treasurer.From the big field running for governor, Go ernor O'Daniel because of his splendid record and outstanding administration was endorsed for re-election, In the next race Jn which there is a wild scramble for the office,. „ that .of railway commissioner, the choice of the club out of the 14 entrants, was Olin W.
