\GED MAN DIES OF INJURIES IN AUTO^WRECKienry Moeller Received Fatal Injuries When Auto Struck By Great Western Train,HOLD FUKERAL WEDNESDAYHenry Moeller, 58 years of age, living at 901 Linden street, died at 3t. Francis hospital yesterday norning 6f injuries he received Sun-* Jay evening when his automobile *as struck by a fast Chicago Great Western train on a crossing near Dewar. He was hurled over 100 feet when the automobile was struck internal injuries resulting; which It is thought were the cause of his 3eath. Mr. Moeller was picked up *nd brought to Waterloo on the train which struck his car and tak-ftn to St. Francis hospital. An Inquest will probably' be held by Dr. S. D. Smith, county coroner.According to the engineer who was driving the train, Mr. Moeller bad had plenty of time to stop his car before reaching the railroad crossing but instead, drove directly onto the crossing, the rear of the automobile being struck by the engine. The automobile was entirely demolished and Moeller was hurled over 100 feet from the railroad.There was no eye-witnesses to the accident but the crash when the engine struck the automobile was heard by several persons who went to the scene of the accident. It is thought Mr. Moeller became somewhat confused when he saw the engine coming toward him which probably retarded his movements In managing his machine.Members of Mr. Moeller's family said he had been a sufferer from defective hearing for a long time bui he had always gone about alone, having always been a very careful driver. Ko reason was found why be drove onto the railroad tracks.After his death at ihe hospital, the remains were removed to Hiie-mau Glndt’s undertaking parlors wid prepared for burial. The funeral services will be held tomorrow at 1 D’clock in the afternoon from the family home. Interment will bo cnade at Klinger, Iowa.Henry Moeller was born In Germany fifty-eight years ago and was brought to America wheu be was a small child. His parents located in Benton county and later removed ‘■o Bennington township. After a JCe of almost twenty years on a ‘ariji. Mr. Moeller moved to Waterloo. He is survived by a widow, iour sons and three daughters.
