Referred to committee on Police.The Market House committee reported a plan for Market House. The elevations and working drivings by Mr. Bassett, showing a convenient arid tasty design for a building which is to be iso stories, exclusive of the cellar and 11? feet *©ng and is to occupy the South-west corner of the lot on the coruer of Market and fifth streets accompanied the report. After examining the specifications the plan submitted by committee •a* adopted. A number of bids for building ti* same were preeented, varying from 15,000 to 14,0u»* dollars, and committee authorised to contract with the lowest responsible bidder for tbe work. The building to be completed before iW first of I December next.The Internal Improvement Committee reported that they had taken legal advice upon the claim of Luke Hughe for an extra allowance for *ork on Destnoin St., and find that the city will fie compelled by law to pay the bill amounting to t?30 00.
