STALLARD REUSES HOMER BALLCARDINAL hurler Tracy Stallard had the unusual distinction of using a home-run ball to retire another batter in an 11-4 victory over the Reds, June 24. Stallard gave up a homer to Johnny Edwards, but the ball bounced back on the field and center fielder Mike Shannon retrieved it. Tracy then used the same ball to retire Leo Cardenas on an infield out.
