Now he is as much at home in the water as a fish. The same thing happened in the matter of hiking, over night camps and Scouting in general. He would be an Ragle Scout if the sky fell on him in the process .... he would have a scout troop in Salley or die trying. That’s when E. E. started losing his hair and I started studying philosophy. Scout Troop 102 was a rip snorting outfit to the youngsters that kept it going. They still think it was the best scout troou in the world. I’ll | never forget those boys-Holley Salley, George Paddock Salley, Maxio Adams. Joe Jones, Lou lie Salley Jr., Plina Sharpe, O’Neal Clamp, Fred Salley, Phil Sawyer.Today there is h new Scout Troop 102 and Elden is the scoutmaster. A new bunch of parents are now turning gray worrying for fear their sons will drown, get snake bit, develop pneumonia from sleeping out, or have acute indigestion from eating their own cooking. I can sympathize for I have been through it. But it's good for the youngsters—makes them self-reliant, cann.ble, and strong.There was the period in his life when he INSISTED that he taketap dancing.
