Extraordinary Cask of Hydrophobia in an Asa.—On Thursday evening the inhabitants of Tribe’s Hill, Montgomery county, N. Y., on the line of the Central railroad, were thrown into a state of alarm on learning that an ass, ihe property of Theo. Blake, was in a state of j raging madness. A number of people who had courage enough gathered round the suffering animal. He waB occasionally in fearful tortures, and his bellowings were tremendous. It is supposed that he was bitten by a mad dog. One man who approached uo near was bitten by the ass. The wound was eauterized, and itis hoped all danger thereby averted. Aftersome time, a halter was got around the neck of the furious animal, and ho was tied to a tree In the paroxysms of the disease he underwent frightful contortions, twisting his body iuto every form, and rearing up on his legs At last he fell to devouring his own body, aodthose around coold hear the crunching of thebones, as the mad creature fastened his teethin his convulsed carcass.
