Cox and Leischen Robertson of Monticello Implement Co., distributors for Modern Farm Systems, Inc., joined nearly 400 other mfs distributors and their personnel, at the Marriott hotel in New Orleans, La. for tfie 7th annual mfs national sales convention Jan. 13*15.Mr. and Mrs. Ed Meier and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Sperfslage, Monticello, were among the winners of a three-day seed company sales trip to New Orleans, La. They stayed at the Monteleone hotel in the French Quarters.A surprise baby shower lor Mrs. Doug Pier ay, Monticello, was heldSunday, Jan. 26, at the home of Mrs. George Arduser, Monticello. Hostesses were Mrs. Arduser and Mrs. Bob Mohr, Langworthy. Guests were : Mrs. Stuart Gerdesand Mrs. Tim Corporan, Langworthy; Karla Kehoe, CedarRapids; Mrs. Dennis Arduser and Karla, Mrs. Eric Peterson, Mrs. Joe Pier ay and Mrs. Roger Picray,all of Monticello.Mrs. Cora Olke of Elkader spent the past two weeks in the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schrader.Mr. and Mrs. A. N. Strittmatter spent the weekend in the home of the former’s mother, Mrs. Leonard Strittmatter.Mr. and Mrs. Rod Kotenbrink attended a conference of the American Master Barbers and Beauticians at Waterloo, Sunday, Jan. 26. A state competition was held in cutting and styling of hair, and Kotenbrink placed fifth.
