Messrs. H. Fisk lt;fc Bros, last week made a considerable shipment of their carriages and spring wagons to Vicksburg, Miss., for salo. We are pleased to notice the increasing business of this firm, and hope they will build np a large Southern trade.Messrs. John W. Stokes and Jos. Malsett, employees of the Cochran machine shops, have the credit of being the pioneers ‘in velocipede building in this vicinity. They have just completed a very handsome vehicle, constructed entirely of iron. It is very light and elegant in appearance, and yet strong enough to bear the weight of any fleshy man that would have the hardihood to mount it.Several of our friends, during thel #* *• *past week, have been clipping coupons from the matrimonial bond. Mr. Charles Fisk rejoiceth in the paternity of a bouncing boy; Mr. A. Epstein has a demand for more “caliker” in his family; Mr. John S. Hope, now of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, is reveling iii the full fruition of matrimonial bliss, all along of being the proud and happ3r parientj of a few pounds of squalling, j muling, colicky humanity of the feminine persuasion.
