Newborn Infant Found In DesertA newborn infant boy, found abandoned Wednesday in t he desert area north of Don Kuser Drive, is alive and well at Memorial General Hospital.Police said two local men identified as Gilbert Sharp, 779 Bellemali Drive, and Marcello Fritz, no address listed, found the child and called police.The baby was wrapped in a cloth and was lying on the side of a dirt road. Police rushed the baby to Memorial General Hospital where he is listed in good condition.Police said they are looking for the baby's mother, and are not quite sure what to do with the child.One detective said this was the first lime an abandoned baby has been found which was still alive. The detective said usually the chi Irfren are dead before anyone finds them.Police are also investigating a Chert of some kitchen cabinets from a construction site on Egnene Street. The cabinets are worth $400. The same si te was robbed of $400 worth of lumber earlier th is m o nl h.Police also received a report of an attempted burglary at a residence on North Cair.po. A woman there told police someone had broken out her kitchen window but did not enter the house.A driver’s license and some loose change was reported stolen from a car parked on South Main Street.A vandalism was reported on McFie Street and an indecent exposure incident was reported Wednesday at Branigan Library.TrafficCity police reported traffic accidents Wednesday at Alameda and Parker, El Molino and Alameda, Foster and Espina, Pieacho and Valley, Harrelson and Conway and an accident with minor injuries at Pi non and Almendra.
