OLD COPPER RELIC FOUND NEAR FONDYA copper banner stone or ceremonial weapon of ancient Indian days, which was recently unearthed in Fond I du Lac during the digging of a sewer, j is described and pictured in the last! issue of The Wisconsin Areheologist. j The weapon is shaped like an ancient battle ax and has two blades and a hole for.a handle. It was found 6 feet in the earth and is believed to have boon lost on the lake shore many ages ago, bc-iore the lake receded to its present level, or buried by a later n generation of Indians.
