OUTRAGE.We have been informed by a citizen of Augusta that on Sunday night, 10th inst., some ruffian or ruffians entered the stable of Mr Levi Moffett, in which were a span of elegant dapple gray horses belonging to Joseph Smith, Jr., and mutilated them in a most shocking manner. The mane' and tail was cut from one horse; one of the ears of the other was cut olf and a deadly blow seemed aimed at its side with a knife which was arrest^ ed by the ribs of the animal, the gash being about six inches long. Mr Smith had arrived in Augusta, in this county, that evening, with the intention of obtaining a load of flour at the mill and hauling it to Nauvoo. The horses were valued at $*450. Such a wanton act of barbarity would hardly he tolerated among savages. No provocation could have been sufficient to authorize the perpetration of such an outrage.
