Seaman Thusing Home After Navy War ExerciseSeaman Andy G. Thusing, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald F. Thusing of 3676 Sunset avenue, Markham participated in the recent naval exercise “Bead Stringer” as a crew-member aboard the guided missile frigate USS Gridley.The exercise, held off the coast of southern California, included advanced training in surface warfare operations, shore bombardment, surace-to-air missiles fired against done aerial targets, live rocket and air missiles fired against done aerial targets, live rocket and bombing attacks, surface gun-| nery and air strikes.I The 24-year old seaman, a resident of Markham since he was three years old. returned home on leave January 4.
