Full ProgramOfferedCai nival Committee This YearWith the annual Peace Rive: Winter Carnival set for Wednes day and Thursday, February 5 and 6, the Carnival executive met last Thursday evening to commence preparations. Posters have been distributed announcing a fullprogram which promises’to makethis winter's celebrations a little better at least than p For hockey prizes $200 00 is offered and it is expected that this will provide the fans with the best available hockey in the north country. Invitations have been sent to all teams in senior, junior and midget classes, on both sides of the river. Seniors will play also for the Slater Carnival Cup, juniors for the handsome Howson trophy and medals donaied byTony Tretick. In the midgetclass is expected the ke jnest competition when inter-town rivalry will flare at its height. Bishop Sovereign and Geo. Sutherland are in charge of the hockey program.The ever popular queen contest will be supervised this year by Lee Boyd, and all young ladies wishing to enter are requested to communicate at once with him, Max Zabel, the president, or the the secretary, Frank Richardson. Twenty-five cent tickets will be sold as in the past and they will be good for their face value at all hockey games and other rink attractions, talkie shows and the Wednesday night dance. Drawfor the lucky number will be held during the crowning ceiemony on Thursday evening.. A. McLure is in charge of street events and he gives the assurance that there will be a splendid list of atti actions, one of the most interesting of which will be the dograces in which keen competition is promised. Those wishing to enter ihe dog races should see Mr. McLure or E. R. Demick as soon as possible.Excursionrates of fare-and-a-for return have beenthe N.A R. effectivequarter granted by from all points between High Prairie and Hines Creek.Finals of the bonspiel, which starts on Feb. 3rd, will be played during Carnival days, so pack your bag and see the whole showin one trip.
