Mrs. Marion Oder To Mark 100th Birthday Jan. 19Next Friday, January 19, will mark the 100th birthday anniversary of Mrs. Marion C. Ren-. wick Oder, former well known and esteemed resident of South Grove Township, who now resides at 7041 State Line, Hammond, Indiana. 1She was born Jan. 19, 1862, in South Grove, the daughter of j Mr. and Mrs. James Renwick,! pioneer farmers. She attended I what was then known as the {Renwick School, located on what is now Route ’64, later attending the Rockford Seminary from 1878 I to 1879. This seminary is now i known as Rockford College. ! | She lived on the farm until ; 1884, when the family moved to ! Rockford. In May of 1887, she j was married to Dr. E. E. Oder, ! who passed away in 1923, and | since then has lived with her j daughter, Mrs. J. L. Lammering, i at Hammond, Indiana. jj Mrs. Oder is in good health for one of her advanced years, and has a most remarkable memory, being able to recall the days of her early life in a new country where work was done ] without electricity or machine , power. jMrs. Rose Renwick Lawbaugh, 82, who lives at Bethany House, 412 N. Court Street, Rockford, ! i is Mrs. Oder's sister, and Mrs. f | William Bell, Mrs. Harvey Larson j i and Mrs. Sharpe, the latter of I Paw Paw, are her cousins. j
