The contest with the East End school was slowed up considerably by the muddy gridiron which handicapped bothteams.All home attendance records were broken during the season, although no official count haa neenannounced. Over 7.000 witnessed the Steubenville contest and a like number were on hand for the game with Massillon while the total number who passed through the turnstiles for the Alliance contest was over 4,000 despite a heavy downpour of rain.At the end of the season letters were awarded to 22 members of the squad, 16 of which will graduate Those who return next fail are Capt. Points were not counted, but the Red and Black scored in several of the events.One of the feature events of the 1927 year was the Pennsylvania athletic carnival, in which athletes of all the lines west of Pittsburgh met to decide various championships Over 1,000 employes of the company were in the city, either as participants or fans.
